PhD fellow @ University of Santiago de Compostela.
A graduate in English Language and Literature by the University of Santiago de Compostela, where I also obtained an MA in Advanced English Studies, I am currently undertaking a PhD with support from the Spanish Ministry of Education. My thesis project deals with the particular possibilities which the fantasy genre can afford as a site of resistance and expression for marginalized identities, and how this impacts their representation within the fictional possible worlds, focusing on the case of women as an illustrative example. My main research interests are thus feminist theory and criticism, identity and representation, and fantasy literature/speculative fiction; however, I also research these concepts in connection with other case studies like young adult literature, fan culture, and new digital media, such as videogames.
